“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:58b
“Every work for Jesus will be blest,
But He asks from everyone His best.
Our talents may be few.
These may be small,
But unto Him is due our best, our all.”
These words are from the old hymn, “Our Best” by S.C. Kirk and Grant C. Tullar. They remind us that all work done in the name of Jesus is important.
Whether in our church, our home or our jobs we may be called upon to do things that seem mundane, unimportant or boring. But we should remember the words from Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men…”
When we put God first and do our best, we can be sure that our efforts will be blessed by the Father.
