In His Praise — May 29, 2016

Welcome to In His Praise!
Memorial Day is a special time of remembrance. Today at East Point C. P. Church patriotic songs and hymns were sung as we remembered and gave honor to those that had given their all in service to our country. Yes, it is a special day indeed and we should always be willing to thank those men and women that have been willing to sacrifice their lives that we can all have the liberty to worship God freely and openly.

Reverend Hughlen Murphree filled in for Bro. Nickels today. In his message he talked about the importance of saying thank you to God. Not only can we say thanks for such things as life, health, family, homes, jobs and our churches, but most of all we owe a debt of gratitude to Jesus for dying for us and giving us salvation. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for you and me, so that we could have eternal life with Him. Now that is good news that should always be remembered!

Welcome to In His Praise!
Today was Decoration Day at East Point and it was good to see many familiar faces return to worship and fellowship with us.

The Women’s Ministry also recognized high school graduate, Amber Harris, today. She was presented a Bible from the CPWM.

Bro. Nickels brought a wonderful message about the Holy Spirit. His scripture basis was Acts 2:1-7, that tells about the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. As Christians we still have the Holy Spirit with us. As Bro. Phil stated, the Holy Spirit “is our advocate, comforter, fighter, and helper.” The Holy Spirit is the that powerful being inside each Christian that helps us know right from wrong and convicts us when we sin. The Holy Spirit is always with us and will never leave us alone. Now that is great news!
