Good News from East Point C.P. Church

August 1, 2021

Here we are at the beginning of a new month. The year is over half gone and new activities are beginning to take up space in our lives and minds. Things like a new school year, football games and other fall activities. Maybe you are beginning a new job after being off because of the pandemic, maybe you are starting anew in a different city or maybe you have lost family or friends and are beginning to build a new life without them. Life is full of changes and new beginnings.  Some are happy and some are sad, but one thing we can be sure of is that God’s love for us will never change or leave us.

God loves and protects His children and will walk with them through the valleys as well as the mountaintops of life. We need only to look at the familiar 23rd Psalm to be assured of this. Here we hear that God (Jesus) cares for us, he provides for us, he guides us, restores us, protects us, blesses us and has prepared a place for us to be with Him forever.

Thank you Father for being so kind and loving!!

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

he restores my soul.

He guides me in the path of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Welcome to “In His Praise”

The good news from East Point C.P. Church today is a verse from Psalm 118:14. These Bible words say, “The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.”

These words give us encouragement, hope and assurance. No matter how weak we feel we are, as Christians we know we can always depend on strength from the Lord. He stands ready and willing to help us when we call out to Him.

When we’re sad or afraid, He will put a song in our hearts and can cause the darkest circumstances to become brighter. Remember Paul and Silas in prison? They sang praises and an earthquake freed them! (Acts 16:25-31)

And what gives us cause to sing? The salvation that the Lord alone can bring to our lives.  With God’s help we can overcome any situation or circumstance. With His salvation we can be forgiven of our sins and be made clean and whole again.

Accept this salvation today and let God be your strength to face life. Let Him  put a joyful song in your heart and let Him give you eternal life with Him.
