“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.”
1 Chronicles 16:8
“Praise God from whom all blessings flow…” These familiar words are sung in many churches each week. Singing them may be so routine for us that we do not even think about the meaning behind them.
We are blessed everyday. It is easy to remember to thank God for the big blessings like salvation and eternal life; and we are all grateful when we feel good and we have strength and energy to do the things we need to do. But what about all the other gifts that God lovingly bestows upon us? Do we remember to thank Him for letting us enjoy time with family and friends, a warm, sunny day on the lake, or just time to relax and unwind? Some people enjoy working in their gardens, others like reading, still others are happiest when they are traveling and seeing new places.
The ability to do all of these things and more is a gift from God. He is a good God that wants to bless us in every aspect of our lives. Let us remember to always say thank you to the One from whom all blessings flow.
