“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…”, Isaiah 9:6 begins with these words that prophesy the birth of Jesus. What joy this scripture brings to our hearts! Again in the book of Matthew, chapter 4, John the Baptist points to Christ, the Redeemer of the world.
Jesus’ purpose in coming into this world was to give salvation to lost people. That’s all of us at one time or another. Until we accept the forgiveness that Jesus gives and repent from our sins, we are lost and have no hope for eternity.
But the good news is that everyone can be saved! Jesus’ salvation is for all people. Age, gender, race, education, rich or poor – it makes no difference — all are so important to God that He sacrificed His one and only Son for our sins. John 3:16 assures us of it.
What a wonderful promise!
