The good news today comes from John 15:4-6. In these verses Jesus tells us to stay grounded in Him and we can be sure He will be with us. He encourages us by promising that with Him working in us we can “bear fruit” for the heavenly Father.
All of us were once unforgiven sinners. But whatever our life has been, Jesus can forgive us, cleanse us and use us to witness to others and share this good news with them.
This is a great encouragement to Christians! Remain grounded and focused on the Lord and let the Holy Spirit work through you to spread God’s love and message of forgiveness wherever you may be.
Do you ever have a rough day? Usually when things go wrong we complain, whine, pout and sometimes lash out at others. We, as human beings, have the idea that we deserve to have everything go smoothly all the time.
But, think about this; Jesus had the roughest night and day in history! He was arrested for no reason, underwent an mock and unjust trial, was severely beaten, humiliated and then nailed to a wooden cross to die a merciless death. But did Jesus complain? No, He did not. Jesus prayed for those that were inflicting this torture upon Him and He prayed for us too.
Why would the almighty Son of God succumb to such abuse? It’s simple, because He loved those people and He loves us too. Jesus knew that taking on all the sins of the world was the only way possible for humankind to be made right with God. Jesus took all the sins and wrong doings for all time and accepted the punishment that He did not deserve, simply because He loves us and wanted to give us a way to be saved from eternal damnation.
Jesus desires a relationship with you and me that will last forever. He was willing to suffer through the worst night and day imaginable to give us this wonderful gift of salvation. Forgiveness of our sins and eternal life with Him —what good news this should be to all of us!
If you have not accepted Jesus gift of salvation, please don’t wait any longer. Make this change in your life by asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and tell him that you want him to live in your heart. The Savior is waiting to hear from you! He loves you dearly!
