If you are a Christian, you may feel as if you are different from other people. Other people may look at you differently too. From the world’s viewpoint Christians think, act and react in different ways from non-christians.
Truthfully, Christians are different. Through faith in Jesus Christ we have hope for eternal life in a perfect place. We have trust in a heavenly Father that cares for us and provides for us each day. This great God we serve gives us direction for our lives. Through prayer and His Holy Word (Bible), He communicates with us and speaks to our hearts. Those that do not know the Lord have no hope for an eternal life and do not have the peace and joy of serving a loving God.
Yes, Christians are different from the world, the Almighty God is our Father! He puts His light in us to make others see us as different and uses that light to draw others to Him. So be happy when the world doesn’t quite understand you. You are a child of God and that is great news!
Today is Father’s Day. A day when much is said and done to honor our earthly dads. We buy gifts, prepare their favorite food, and try to spend some extra time with these men that are so important in our lives. A godly father is truly a treasure here on earth.
But God does not call every man to be a dad, to father children and raise a family. Some may never marry or may never have children. But God does call every man to serve Him — to be a good, upright man that strives to live in a right relationship with the Heavenly Father. Such men are a blessing too.
It is good news to know that God has a plan for everyone and He is calling men, women and children into His service daily and equipping them for the task before them.
