In His Praise — December 3, 2017

Our good news today comes from a verse of scripture found in Galatians 4:4. This scripture tells us that Jesus was sent to this world “to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.” When Jesus came into the world as that tiny baby, it set in motion God’s plan for our salvation.

Try as we may, no one could have ever kept all of the laws of the Old Testament perfectly. Of course we still need to strive to follow Jesus commands but, because of Jesus, we no longer have to adhere to a list of rules and regulations in order to be saved. When we repent from our sins, accept the salvation that Jesus so freely provided through His death and resurrection and ask Him into our life He saves us and we become part of His family.

As we begin this Advent season let’s rejoice in the good news that Jesus came to seek and to save those that are lost, and He is still seeking and saving today!

In His Praise — November 27, 2016

Welcome to In His Praise!
Today was the first Sunday of Advent — the beginning of a time of preparation as we look forward to the celebration of our Savior’s birth. As we began this yearly tradition, God blessed our congregation in several ways, and it is those blessings that are the “good news” that is shared.

First of all, it was a blessing to hear and see all the Sunday School classes full and humming with activity and discussion. The children made puppets and used them during the worship service to share the story of the angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary to tell her she was going to have Baby Jesus. It was such a blessing to hear the excitement in their voices as they so happily shared this celebration.

Next there was a celebration of praise as the choir made a joyful noise and shared God’s message in song. Hearts full of a desire to glorify God make a beautiful sound!

Most of all though, Bro. Nickels reminded us that “whosoever will” may come to God and receive salvation, and for this we should celebrate everyday and share the “good news” with others.
