Have you noticed that everybody is the world is different? Of course you have, it is a silly question. There are male and female, young and old, short and tall, thin and not so thin. There are also people of different races and ethnic backgrounds, different cultures and languages. We have different personalities, talents and abilities; and may have different opinions and that’s ok. God has made each person uniquely different and special. Psalm 139:14 praises Him for this very special blessing when it reads, “… I am fearfully and wonderfully made”.  Even though we are each created differently, it is wonderful to know that God loves us all the same and sent Jesus to be the Savior for all people. We are reminded of this in  John 3:16, 1…

“Blessed beyond measure” , this is a phrase we hear often. It is a reference to Ephesians. 3:20, where Paul writes, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” . Have you ever considered all the goodness that God bestows on each of us?  It is easy to see the blessings of health, life, family and friends. We know that God guides us, protects us and keeps us safe from harm. We ask for these blessings daily and we are truly grateful for them.  But what about the blessings that we don’t really recognize. According to the above verse of scripture, God is able to do more than we can ask and even…

Good News from East Point C.P. Church August 1, 2021 Here we are at the beginning of a new month. The year is over half gone and new activities are beginning to take up space in our lives and minds. Things like a new school year, football games and other fall activities. Maybe you are beginning a new job after being off because of the pandemic, maybe you are starting anew in a different city or maybe you have lost family or friends and are beginning to build a new life without them. Life is full of changes and new beginnings.  Some are happy and some are sad, but one thing we can be sure of is that God’s love for us will never change or leave us. God loves…

In His Praise! Good News from East Point C.P. Church July 25, 2021 DO YOU KNOW THE LORD? This is a simple inquiry, but the answer means everything. It is the most important answer that you can ever give. It effects the rest of your life here on earth and more importantly, it effects your eternal life. I do not know of anybody that would deliberately choose to go to hell. But by ignoring this invitation you are choosing death over life, hell over heaven . It just that  simple!  And it is just that simple to change things too! Acts 3:19 says to repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away (paraphrased). Romans 10:9 says “if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord,…

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 119:24 These words can be a comfort to those going through troubled times, a reassurance to those that have lost hope and a praise to all of us as we awaken to a new day and a new beginning. Let us always rejoice in each new start we are given and go forward with the confidence that God is with us and has everything under control.

Welcome to “In His Praise!” “…God is love…”, 1 John 4:8 and 16.  What beautiful and true words! Most of us have either spoken them or heard them sometime in our life, but do we really comprehend what these three simple words mean and how great our God’s love is for each of us? We can turn to scripture to begin to scratch the surface of understanding. First of all, we find in John 3:16 and Romans 5:8 that God’s love for us will save us from sin and eternal damnation. Because He loved us enough to send Jesus to die for our sins, we can be forgiven and enjoy eternity with Him. His saving love is a gift that none of us deserve or can earn. That’s not all,…

Welcome to “In His Praise!” Happy 4th of July! Today we celebrate freedom. Americans enjoy a lifestyle of rights and privileges that many others in the world can only dream about. God has richly blessed our country and for that we are thankful. He has also blessed us with freedom from sin and the consequences. Freedom is truly a God-given right and should never be taken for granted. But like the saying goes, “to whom much is given, much is required”. As Christians we have a responsibility to use our freedoms  in the right way.  Galatians 5:13 instructs us to do just that; “You, my brothers, are called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather serve one another in love.” As we…

Welcome to “In His Praise!” Most of us desire to do good. As Christians, we want to always do and say the right things. But, we are human, and we sin from time to time. That should not keep us from striving to be better people though.  God’s word gives us a quick prayer that can be uttered any time we feel weak. It is found in Psalm 19:14, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” What beautiful words and what a loving God to give them to us. He knows that in spite of our good intentions we will fail occasionally. He has given scripture to encourage us, guide us and help…

Welcome to “In His Praise!” Today we remember and honor dads and we give thanks for those godly men in our lives. East Point C.P. Church wishes each of you a blessed and happy Father’s Day! Being a good father can be a daunting task at times, but our heavenly Father gives guidance and encouragement all throughout His word. One such scripture is found in Micah 6:8, “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Thank you Heavenly Father for your love and guidance and thank you for sending Christian men to be earthly fathers.

Welcome to “In His Praise!” “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing” Zephaniah 3:17.  What beautiful words! This promise was made to the God’s people in Jerusalem thousands of years ago. But today’s Christians are God’s people too and the good news is that we too can claim this promise.  What a blessing to know that we are so treasured by our Heavenly Father that He will protect us, find joy in us, soothe us when troubled and sing a happy song over us! What an amazing God we have that loves us so much.  We cannot totally comprehend His great love for us,…
