Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!”
Revelation 5:13
Today is Palm Sunday, the day we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem before His arrest and crucifixion. The crowds met Jesus with praise and worship. They shouted “Hosanna” or save us and blest Him as one that was coming in the name of the Lord. (Luke19:28-40, Matthew 12:12-13).
Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus to shush those that were worshipping and praising Him. Jesus replied by saying, “if they keep quiet, even the stones will cry out.”
What a beautiful and joyful scene that must have been! Jesus’ power and presence was felt so strongly that all of nature wanted to worship Him!
In the book of Revelation we hear again of a time when all of nature will rejoice and worship our King. This scene, described in chapter 5, takes place in Heaven. The 24 elders will fall down in worship along with the four living creatures. Angels, too numerous to count, will encircle the throne and worship the Lamb. Then, we are told that every creature on the earth, under the earth, in the sea and and on it will give praise to our Lord and Savior!
What a day that will be!! No person, no animal or no creation will be able to resist the glory of Jesus; and we along with all of nature will worship and praise Him forever!
