“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
Isaiah 60:1
The season of Advent has begun. Advent is a time of anticipation and preparation for the coming Savior. During Advent we remember all the events leading up to the birth of Jesus and on Christmas Day we celebrate that holy birth.
When Jesus came to earth everything changed. He brought light in the darkness. He brought hope that people had never had before. He brought healing for those destined to a life of misery and most of all He brought salvation for all that would accept it. Jesus truly was and is the “light of the world”.
As we prepare to once again celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us remember that He still beings light to dark places, He still heals those that are suffering and He stills gives salvation to those that will accept it. The peace and happiness He can bring are indescribable!
Surely we should joyously “arise and shine” because our “Light has come” and He will never leave us!
