Welcome to “In His Praise!”
The “pursuit of happiness” is one of the rights stated in the preamble of the constitution of the United States. “We the people” have a right to seek happiness. But what does it take to make we humans really happy? Good jobs, plenty of money, health, family, friends, leisure time spent doing what we want? There is nothing wrong with any of these things, but many times those that seem to have everything in life are the most unhappy. Everyone suffers sickness from time to time. Everyone loses a loved one in their life. Everyone struggles with problems; and the list goes on and on. One might conclude that there is no real happiness.
But wait, there is hope and there is good news! Romans 15:13 tells us “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Real joy comes from trusting in God. Through the Holy Spirit we can be filled with joy and peace. Through the Holy Spirit God can cause our hope to overflow.
Isn’t this great news? When we trust God for our happiness He doesn’t just give us little bit of joy and peace, He fills us all the way up and our hope will then be so much it overflows into all the parts of our lives and can be shared with others.
