In His Praise — November 1, 2020

Welcome to “In His Praise!”

The Adult Sunday School Class at East Point CP Church has been studying the book of Exodus for the last several weeks. The study is taking us from the time that God freed the Israelites from Egyptian slavery to the time they were lead into the Promised Land. It has been a very interesting and thought provoking study. Much of the writings have focused on Moses; his special relationship with God and his leadership of the people.

Moses  was specially chosen by God for the task of leading His people. During his journey Moses  had more than one “mountain top experience” with God. God spoke directly to him through a burning bush, from the top of Mt. Sinai and through prayer. Moses sought God’s guidance and wisdom in order to lead the Israelites and to provide for their needs.

Thinking of the ways that Moses communicated with God, how Moses was allowed in God’s very presence, we might say that he enjoyed a unique privilege. We might think that God has reserved this kind of relationship for only a chosen few.

But  we would be wrong. Thanks be to God the scriptures reassure us that we too can talk to God as a friend. We too can come into His presence. We too can receive guidance and wisdom to complete the tasks He gives us.

Hebrews 4:16 and 10:19 reassures us of this.
