“The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1. This scripture was the basis for Rev. Nickles sermon today and what good news it is to share with everyone!
As we read the rest of chapter 27, we are encouraged to find that as God’s children, we have nothing to fear — not evil, not enemies, not armies, not war (just to name a few). In essence, nothing of this world can harm us if we belong to the Almighty God.
We are encouraged to seek God and trust Him. But how do we do this when there are so many distractions in our lives and Satan tries so hard to pull us away from God? The answer is by choosing each day to follow God, by trusting His plan for our lives and by dedicating our every thought to Him.
As Joshua instructs in Joshua 24:15 “choose for yourself this day whom you will serve…” Each new day, renew your determination to trust in the Lord and seek Him in all that you do. Know that God is holding you in the palm of His hand, He will not let you go. He has engraved your name on His hand (Isaiah 49:16). You will see and feel Satan’s grip being loosened and you will know the peace of God’s security in your life.
How blessed we are to be children of God!
