In the Old Testament we read about how the Lord provided for the Israelites as they journeyed to the Promised Land. He provided protection for them from the Egyptians and other enemies. He provided guidance and direction for them, and when they didn’t have food the Lord provided fresh manna for them each day. The Bible even says that during the forty years that the Israelites wandered in the wilderness, their clothes never wore out! You would think the Israelites would be grateful, but at times they were not. They grumbled about having to travel so far, they doubted that God was going to protect them and they complained when they got tired of eating manna.
Sounds little familiar doesn’t it? God is so good to us, He provides all we need and even more and yet we too grumble and complain. But the good news is that God is forgiving and loving. Even though it displeases Him for us to be so ungrateful, He is always willing to forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant and contrite heart. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father is immediately restored when we accept His forgiveness.
Thank you, Lord, for being so good to us and for always loving us.
